COMPLAINTS?

Full Spectrum Mama’s help meet, Guest Writer and Troubleshooter, Partial/incomplete Monochrome Persona (PiMP) has asked that she announce a call for submissions of COMPLAINTS.

During the months of November and December, Full Spectrum Mama will be accepting entries for PiMP’s annual anniversary guest post, “Second Anniversary Lists IV: The Complaint Department,” to be published in late January 2014.  Please email any and all COMPLAINTS to jineffable@gmail.com.

Guidelines for acceptable COMPLAINTS are loose. Simply put, COMPLAINTS must be…acceptable. Please see http://fullspectrummama.blogspot.com/2013/01/first-anniversary-lists-iv-complaint.html for previous examples. Please note that COMPLAINTS needn’t be limited to parenting, differences, adoption, attachment disorders, autism, asperger’s, etc., since a Vast Spectrum of COMPLAINTS in their myriad forms may be complained, whined, and sometimes shared, by a Spectrum of individuals.

For multiple or multifaceted COMPLAINTS, list form is highly encouraged.

COMPLAINTS will be posted anonymously and may be edited for clarity or acceptability.

The Complaint Department will respond to acceptable COMPLAINTS in an appropriate fashion.

You may remember that PiMP’s day job is with The Complaint Department. PiMP cautions you that this solicitation on PiMP’s behalf does NOT indicate that The Complaint Department is in fact open.

Love,
Full Spectrum Mama

P.S. You can also email COMMENTS to this same email. Readers’ inability to comment is a very common, as yet unresolved COMPLAINT  L

  1. Can I complain about this making me giggle?

    1. Dear autistocook,
      Your complaint is acceptable.
      Sincerely,
      The Complaint Department
p.s. So far it's looking like we are going to need to have a bifurcated Complaints post with gigglers and non-gigglers separated so as to spare readers (and writers) feelings of confusing feelings.

    2. Yes, I can see how having readers and writers experience feelings of confused feelings could very well lead to more complaints, thus overloading the entire system. The separation you propose seems a sensible solution, although the gigglers might complain about not being taken seriously.

    3. I should clarify, while still admittedly giggling @autisticook, that the complaints *themselves* will be the divided thing, not the complainers or the readers...
So far, I haven't received anything that seems ambiguous - though you know how "literal" we can be ;)
      Love,

  3. So I am tired of the seeming inability of people to understand that my son communicates differently. He does not understand nuance. He does not understand non-direct language. Word problems are going to flummox him. If you overreact to discussions of body parts two things are going to happen: he will be ashamed of his body AND he's going to talk about these things MORE. Negative social interaction is social interaction....That's just a start...

    1. Dear afuturemathteacher,
Your COMPLAINT is acceptable and will be published and replied to by PiMP in the COMPLAINTS posting. However, I, Full Spectrum Mama, would like to echo your COMPLAINT right here and now: what good is this idea that there are traits that some on the spectrum might share such as this one if no one takes them into account in interactions???? Okay, maybe not the FIRST interaction, we all need to learn about others, and differences, etc -- but once it has become clear??!!!!!!! In the last few weeks alone, I have heard from friends on the spectrum and/or with children on the spectrum about family, friends and - especially, sadly - teachers sharing the inability you mention. And of course it's something G and I face as well, sometimes with great awkwardness! BLACGH, I say. Lovingly,
      Full Spectrum Mama
